ULTRA COMPETITION from SPONSER® is a highly complex hypotonic nutrient solution, specially developed for the demands of ultra- and long-distance running. Waxy maize starch and gluten-free starch hydrolysates from waxy maize and rice ensure long-lasting energy and a low glycemic index.
Acacia fiber consists of arabinogalactan, and its water-, electrolyte-, and glucose-binding properties support the absorption of these nutrients and normal intestinal function. Waxy maize starch consists of branched-chain glucose molecules. Unlike monosaccharides or disaccharides, waxy maize starch contains up to 1,000 or more glucose molecules in a branched arrangement. Although the long-chain and relatively complex structure is quickly emptied from the stomach, it is broken down into glucose by digestive enzymes at a slower rate. The insulin spike from a beverage consisting primarily of waxy maize starch is therefore significantly lower than with commercially available carbohydrate mixtures.
The recipe completely avoids gluten, lactose and free fructose, as these nutrients are often poorly tolerated during long periods of exercise under stressful conditions and therefore have a performance-limiting effect.
This product is vegan.
APPLICATION
Ideal for long-term exercise. Can also be prepared as a concentrate with up to 60 g per 300 ml of water, for sips every 10-15 minutes (approximately 300 ml per hour). Drink additional water as needed.
PREPARATION
750-1000 ml water + 4-6 measuring spoons (60-90g)
Due to the waxy maize starch, vigorous and repeated shaking is necessary for complete dissolution. Flavor as desired, e.g., with tea water, a few drops of syrup, or fruit juice.

Why should you care about fluid and salt loss?
So that you can maintain your performance for several hours
To regenerate optimally
To develop an individual catering strategy
Therefore, you should know your salt or sodium loss
The composition of sweat varies from athlete to athlete. The sodium content varies between 200 mg/l and 2300 mg/l of sweat. Sweat consists of 99% water and primarily serves thermoregulation. Sodium is the most important electrolyte and main component in sweat.
Disclaimer:
Sports physiology is constantly gaining new insights, allowing for an increasingly individualized assessment of a wide range of influencing factors. SPONSER® considers the rapid progress in measuring individual sweat and salt loss to be a relevant topic for sports nutrition due to the highly individual variations. Such a measurement can be an interesting and potentially performance-enhancing tool for competitive athletes.
